Where You Stay Matters

Each space is intentionally selected to support the rhythm, meaning, and experience of the journey.

Where you stay is about more than having a beautiful place to sleep each night. It plays an important role in how you experience the destination and how you move through the journey.

That's why each hotel has been intentionally selected not only for its comfort and quality, but for the role it plays in the overall experience. As we travel from the vibrant energy of Accra to the rich cultural heritage of Kumasi and finally to the peaceful coastline of Elmina, each property complements the destination and creates space for exactly what that part of the journey is meant to offer.

The Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City places us in the heart of Accra, providing a refined and welcoming introduction to Ghana's capital. In Kumasi, the Lancaster Kumasi City Hotel offers a comfortable retreat after days spent exploring the traditions and history of the Ashanti Kingdom. Along the coast, AnoMansa Beach Resort provides a quiet, beachfront setting where there's time to slow down, reflect, and simply enjoy the rhythm of the ocean.

For me, luxury isn't about excess. It's about choosing environments that feel comfortable, welcoming, and thoughtfully aligned with the experience you're having. Every hotel on this journey has been selected to support that vision, creating spaces where you can rest, recharge, and fully appreciate everything the journey has to offer.

From the moment we arrive in Ghana until it's time to return home, every aspect of Roots & Return has been designed with intention, and that includes where we'll stay. My goal is for each property to feel like a natural extension of the journey itself, providing the comfort, care, and atmosphere that allow you to be fully present for the experiences that await.

Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City
Accra | Arrival & Return

Our journey begins and ends at Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra, a luxury hotel that I intentionally selected to welcome us to Ghana and bring the journey full circle before we return home.

Located in the heart of Accra, the Kempinski places us close to many of the city's cultural landmarks while providing a comfortable place to relax after each day's experiences. Its central location allows us to spend more time exploring Ghana's vibrant capital and less time navigating the city, making it an ideal starting point for everything that's ahead.

After a long international flight, I wanted our first hotel to feel welcoming, comfortable, and connected to the destination itself. The Kempinski offers that balance beautifully, combining contemporary luxury with subtle Ghanaian influences that remind you you're not just staying in a beautiful hotel - you're in Ghana.

When we return to Accra after our time in Kumasi and along the coast, the experience feels different. The city is familiar, the hotel feels familiar, and there's an opportunity to reflect on everything we've experienced together before sharing one final evening as a group.

One of the things I appreciate most about the Kempinski is that it complements the journey rather than competing with it. It provides exceptional hospitality, thoughtful comfort, and a welcoming environment where you can rest and recharge while remaining connected to the experience of being in Ghana.

I wanted every hotel on this journey to contribute something meaningful to the overall experience, and the Kempinski does exactly that. It welcomes us at the beginning, welcomes us back at the end, and helps set the tone for the journey from the moment we arrive.

Following our time in Accra, the gathering transitions inland to Kumasi - the cultural heart of the Ashanti Kingdom.

Lancaster Kumasi City Hotel
Kumasi | Cultural Immersion

Our time in Kumasi brings us to the Lancaster Kumasi City Hotel, a welcoming property that was intentionally selected to complement this important chapter of the journey.

Often referred to as the cultural heart of the Ashanti Kingdom, Kumasi is where we'll spend time exploring traditions, history, craftsmanship, and the rich cultural heritage that continues to shape Ghana today. The Lancaster's convenient location allows us to easily access many of the experiences that make this part of the journey so meaningful while providing a comfortable place to return to at the end of each day.

As we move through Kumasi, the pace of the journey naturally begins to shift. The experiences here invite us to slow down, ask questions, reflect on what we're learning, and deepen our understanding of the history, traditions, and stories that have been preserved for generations.

After full days of exploration, the Lancaster provides a peaceful environment where you can relax, recharge, and process everything you've experienced. It's a place that supports the journey without competing with it, allowing the focus to remain where it belongs - on the people, the culture, and the connections that make this part of Roots & Return so memorable.

Throughout our time in Kumasi, the Lancaster provides a comfortable place to return to each evening, allowing you to rest, reflect on the day's experiences, and prepare for everything that awaits the next day. It's the kind of welcoming environment that lets you focus less on where you're staying and more on the journey you're experiencing.

From Kumasi, the gathering continues toward Ghana’s Atlantic coastline, where the final chapter of the journey unfolds in Elmina.

AnoMansa Beach Resort
Anomabo Coast | Coastal Restoration & Integration

Our final destination brings us to AnoMansa Beach Resort, a peaceful beachfront retreat along Ghana's historic central coastline. After the energy of Accra and the cultural experiences of Kumasi, this is where the journey naturally begins to slow down.

There's something special about being by the water, and I wanted to create space in the itinerary where there wasn't a rush to be anywhere or pressure to keep moving. Instead, you'll have time to walk along the shoreline, enjoy the ocean views, spend time in conversation, journal if you choose, or simply sit quietly and take in everything you've experienced throughout the journey.

The slower pace of our time in Elmina is intentional. By this point in the gathering, we've shared meaningful conversations, visited places that have challenged and inspired us, and experienced moments that many of us will carry for years to come. Before returning home, I wanted to create an opportunity to pause, reflect, and simply be present.

AnoMansa Beach Resort provides the perfect setting for that final chapter. Its relaxed atmosphere, beautiful coastal setting, and welcoming hospitality create the kind of environment where you can rest, recharge, and fully appreciate everything the journey has meant before we gather one last time and make our way home.

Property Highlights

  • Oceanfront accommodations with coastal views
  • Direct beach access and relaxed seaside gathering spaces
  • Intimate on-site dining in a peaceful resort setting
  • Quiet surroundings designed for restoration and reflection
  • Convenient access to Cape Coast Castle and Elmina Castle

Along this coastline - where so many stories of departure once began - the gathering creates space to reflect, restore, and honor the journey forward.

A Place to Rest, Reflect, and Return To

Throughout the journey, each accommodation serves a purpose beyond where we sleep.

Together, these spaces help shape the rhythm of the journey - offering comfort, thoughtful hospitality, and environments aligned with each phase of the experience.

In Accra, the gathering is welcomed with grounding and ease.

In Kumasi, the rhythm deepens through heritage, tradition, and cultural immersion.

Along the coast, the pace softens into restoration and reflection beside the Atlantic.

Each stay has been selected not simply for refinement, but for the way it supports the experience as a whole.

Because meaningful travel is shaped not only by what you experience - but by the spaces that hold you along the way.

Where you stay should do more than support the journey.

It should deepen it.
