Is international airfare included?

International airfare to Ghana is not included. This allows guests the flexibility to depart from their preferred city or utilize airline points, if desired.


Your journey does include airport transfers within Ghana, premium accommodations, guided cultural experiences, domestic transportation between cities, ceremonial participation, and select meals outlined within the itinerary.


Recommended arrival windows and flight guidance will be provided to help support a seamless experience from arrival through departure.

Safety is a top priority throughout Roots & Return: The Gathering | Ghana 2028.


The gathering is supported by experienced local guides, private transportation providers, vetted hospitality partners, and carefully coordinated logistics throughout Ghana.


Guests are fully supported from arrival through departure, allowing the experience to feel both grounded and thoughtfully held throughout the journey.


Do I need to travel with someone?

No.


Many guests join independently and quickly become part of the gathering. The experience is intentionally designed to foster meaningful connection while still honoring personal space, reflection, and individual pace.


You will always have space to engage - and space to simply be present within your own experience.


Will this journey be emotionally overwhelming?

Some moments within the journey are meaningful and reflective.


The experience is intentionally paced with spacious transitions, coastal restoration time, and opportunities for integration between heritage experiences. There is no expectation to respond in any particular way.


Guests are encouraged to move through the journey at their own pace and honor their individual experience throughout.


How physically demanding is the journey?

This experience is considered moderate and accessible for most travelers.


Activities include guided site visits, short walks, and comfortable transportation throughout the journey. There are no strenuous hikes or physically demanding excursions, and intentional downtime is built into the overall pacing of the experience.


If you are comfortable walking moderate distances and participating in full days balanced with rest and reflection, you will be well supported.


What is included in the journey pricing?

Your investment in Roots & Return: The Gathering | Ghana 2028 includes:

  • Premium hotel accommodations throughout the journey

  • VIP airport meet-and-greet upon arrival in Accra

  • Private airport transfers for arrival and international departure

  • Domestic transportation within Ghana, including the flight from Accra to Kumasi

  • Guided cultural experiences and site admissions

  • Traditional Ghanaian naming ceremony led by local elders

  • Private tailoring consultations for custom garments

  • Welcome and celebration dinners

  • Select meals as outlined in the itinerary

  • English-speaking local guides and dedicated on-site support

  • Applicable taxes and administrative coordination


What is not included?

To allow flexibility in how guests personalize the experience, the following are not included:

  • International airfare to and from Ghana

  • Ghana visa fees

  • Travel protection

  • Meals not specifically outlined within the itinerary

  • Gratuities for guides, drivers, and service staff


Gratuities Guidance

Gratuities are not included in the journey investment, as is customary for private guided experiences.


As guests will be supported by a dedicated local team throughout the gathering, the following guidelines are provided for planning purposes:

  • Tour guides: approximately $10–$20 per day

  • Drivers: approximately $5–$10 per day

  • Restaurant wait staff: approximately $2 per meal


Gratuities remain entirely at your discretion and may be adjusted based on your personal experience and level of service received.


All inclusions and exclusions are shared intentionally and transparently so guests can move forward with clarity and confidence.


What is the payment structure?

To reserve your place within Roots & Return: The Gathering | Ghana 2028, a deposit is required at the time of booking.


Because this experience involves advance contractual commitments with accommodations, transportation providers, cultural partners, destination suppliers, guided experiences, and hosted arrangements, all traveler payments remain subject to the reservation and cancellation policies outlined within the Terms & Conditions.


Total Deposit Requirement
$2,000 per person


Initial Deposit
$500 per person due at booking
Non-refundable and non-transferable


Deposit Completion

The remaining $1,500 deposit commitment is paid in three additional installments:

  • $500 due 30 days after booking
  • $500 due 60 days after booking
  • $500 due 90 days after booking


All deposit installments are non-refundable and non-transferable.


Reservations are considered fully confirmed only after the full $2,000 deposit requirement has been received and processed.


Payment of the initial deposit secures a provisional reservation pending completion of the full deposit requirement.


Failure to complete any required deposit installment by the applicable due date may result in suspension or cancellation of the reservation, forfeiture of amounts previously paid, and release of reserved inventory.


Installment Payment Schedule

After completion of the full deposit requirement, remaining balances will be divided into scheduled installment payments as follows:

  • October 1, 2027
  • January 1, 2028
  • April 1, 2028


Automatic payment processing may be utilized for scheduled installment payments.


All payment arrangements remain subject to the Terms & Conditions acknowledged during booking and reservation confirmation.


Final Payment Deadline

Final balance due:
July 1, 2028


All payment deadlines must be honored to maintain participation in the gathering.

Failure to remain current on scheduled payments may result in suspension or cancellation of the reservation and release of reserved inventory.


Payment & Cancellation Policy

All payments made toward Roots & Return: The Gathering | Ghana 2028 are:

  • non-refundable

  • non-transferable

  • non-exchangeable

  • not eligible for future travel credit


Traveler payments are used to secure advance contractual commitments and operational arrangements specifically on behalf of confirmed participants.


For this reason, refunds or credits cannot be issued for:

  • cancellations

  • personal schedule conflicts

  • airline disruptions or missed flights

  • denied boarding

  • medical situations

  • force majeure events

  • passport or visa issues

  • delays

  • or inability to travel for any reason

Travel protection, including Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) coverage where available, is strongly recommended.


Coverage benefits, eligibility, exclusions, limitations, and claim determinations are governed solely by the insurance provider and policy terms.


What if my plans change?

Roots & Return: The Gathering | Ghana 2028 is a curated international gathering requiring advance contractual commitments for accommodations, transportation, destination programming, cultural experiences, and guided services.


Because reservations involve limited inventory and substantial non-refundable supplier commitments made specifically on behalf of confirmed guests, all traveler payments remain non-refundable and non-transferable under the Terms & Conditions acknowledged during booking.


For this reason, guests are strongly encouraged to purchase comprehensive travel protection, including Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) coverage where available, to help protect their investment in the event of:

  • covered cancellations

  • travel interruptions

  • medical emergencies

  • airline disruptions

  • delays

  • or unforeseen circumstances impacting travel


Travelers who decline travel protection acknowledge full financial responsibility for losses related to cancellations, interruptions, delays, or inability to travel.
