New entry requirement for U.S. & Canadian travelers
As of January 8, 2025, the United Kingdom now requires an Electronic Travel Authorisation (UK ETA) for all U.S. and Canadian passport holders entering or transiting through the UK.
Here’s what you need to know:
Who Needs It: All U.S. and Canadian citizens traveling to or through the UK
Processing Time: Allow up to 3 business days for approval
Validity: ETA is valid for 2 years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first
Entries: Multiple entries are permitted within the validity period
Applications must be submitted online through the official UK government portal. Be sure to complete your application well ahead of travel to avoid delays.
